LITTLE ROCK — Taziki’s Greek Fare Restaurant, the first Arkansas franchise of a Birmingham, Ala.-based fastcasual minichain, opened this week in the Cantrell Heights Center, 8200 Cantrell Road. Former state Sen. Jim Keet and his sons, Tommy and Jake, are running the place. Hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. Roger & Missy’s Bar B.Q. Shack, which had been operating as Paul’s on John F. Kennedy Boulevard in North Little Rock, has moved into what used to be Smokey Joe’s at 10308 Chicot Road, Little Rock, serving barbecue and “Paul’s favorites - hamburgers, homemade onion rings, chili mac, catfish and salads,” according to coowner Joe Finch. Hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Saturday. The telephone number is (501) 562-3555.

New Asian Chinese Restaurant has opened at 11701 Maumelle Blvd., North Little Rock. And yes, the buffet offers sushi. Hours are 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Friday-Saturday. The telephone number is (501) 753-9888.

The North Little Rock mainbranch of Casa Mexicana has opened in its new, larger location, just a few yards away across the parking lot from its old one, in the Indian Hills Shopping Center, 6929 John F. Kennedy Blvd., where North Little Rock meets Sherwood. The extensively renovated building had previously housed a Buffalo Grill outlet and a couple of Chinese buffet places. Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday. The restaurant’s phone number is still (501) 835-7876.

A sign in front of the U.S. Pizza outlet at 9300 N. Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, reads “Under new attitude.” The sign reflects the local chain’s change in attitude from cost-centered consciousness “to more a customer-service based,” says manager Doug Gusewelle, who adds that the sign will travel the circuit of area U.S. Pizzas.
