Arm troops lingually, experts urge

Military should train in local language, culture, panel hears

WASHINGTON — Increasingly, being a soldier isn’t just about waging assaults and battling back ambushes. As soldiers fight enemies who intermingle with members of the general population, they must be fluent in the local language, military experts told congressional investigators Wednesday.
