Wells Fargo’s Wachovia Buyout Gets U.S. Antitrust Clearance

Wells Fargo & Co.’s $11.7 billion buyout of Wachovia Corp. won U.S. antitrust clearance, in a transaction that will create the largest U.S. bank by branches.

The antitrust clearance was disclosed in a list of terminated merger reviews published by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission.
